REMODELING PROJECTS

Existing construction or remodeling projects are a bit more challenging in comparison to new construction. Our canvas is fixed and the most crucial elements will be to determine where and what exactly is needed in the house. Of course, everything is possible, so it is imperative we choose equipment and locations wisely. To compensate for hard to reach wiring locations, frequently, you will have an option to use wireless equipment as needed. Worst case scenario (as pictured), we will need to cut some squares in the walls to help snake the wiring where needed. Remember, you will always have a choice for most locations; buy wireless equipment or cut walls to get wiring to the location, depending on what is needed in that spot. There will clearly be a need for finish work. Typically it is best to work with your finisher to make sure end result quality is to your liking and done by someone you already trust and like. If you don't have someone who does drywall and paint, we can try to recommend someone that we trust and have worked with before, and we can take it from there.

  • Single story homes with attic space are usually the easiest to wire
  • Homes with raised foundations are also easier than slab built homes
  • Multilevel homes usually require more drywall cutting to bring wiring on the lower levels, and usually the top floor will have an attic which makes it a bit easier.
  • We will meet and discuss your needs, perform a site survey and let you know which rooms may need drywall cutting
  • Once you make decisions on the wiring, or wireless equipment, we will put together an estimate for you to review
  • When we agree on all facets of the project, we will need to sign a contract (when needed) and a deposit will be needed
  • First step will be the wiring and any drywall cutting
  • Second step will be the finish work, touch-ups and covering of all the pre-wire locations that have been cut
  • Third step will be the installation and connection of all necessary equipment
  • Fourth step will be the configuration and programming of all equipment
  • Fifth and final step will be a walk-through with you, system training and a final balance payment of the project.
